Supple Research Projects

Supple productions are created through travel and research. Some projects are purely journeys of investigation through work with actors, writers and artists over many years.

THE DEVILS ARE NOT SLEEPING

Based on ‘Szcerze’ the diaries of Donald Tusk

A trans-continental research, tracing the story of Europe in our time: from the collapse of communism to the integration of the East and triumph of the liberal centre, to the resurgence of radical populism and nationalist separatism. Workshops in London and Paris and discussions with partners in Stockholm, Berlin, Warsaw, Athens, Budapest, Milan and Madrid centred on Tusk’s own journey from student activist in Gdansk to President of the European Council in Brussels and the struggle of the individual with the forces of history. The process was interrupted in March 2020 by the pandemic but will resume as soon as is possible.
